Drunken Duality

A sonnet

In blissful chaos I’m spiraling through
Familiar and unsettling gravity;
My luck I’ve all spent, thus should be my cue
Not to fall on its fierce duplicity.
A bed of roses perched on active mines,
Today it’s ’til death’, tomorrow can’t tell;
Reason unravels what the rhyme entwines,
When delirium ebbs, murky depths would swell.
But yearning grips, it mars uncertainties;
Should I try anew and ride with the odds?
Who’s to tell that everything’s fantasy,
When my heart sings with its beauty and scars.

I’d be slurring doubts when push comes to shove,
Where fear and longing collide, I’d choose love.
